Annual Police Report Shows Serious Crime Down in 2013Last year, Royal Oak experienced an 11 percent overall decrease in crimes that involve force or threat of force, such as assault, forcible and non-forcible sex offenses and burglary, according the to the Royal Oak Police Department’s 2013 Annual Police Report.
The reduction in Group A offenses is one of many accomplishments outlined in the 43-page report available to the public on the city’s website. Read more »
Royal Oak Introduces Pothole Repair Tracking Map
The Department of Public Service (DPS) has created a map that allows residents to view the progress of the city’s efforts to repair potholes.
“We have two crews dedicated to patching potholes in residential neighborhoods,” said Greg Rassel, DPS director. “We’ve started repairs in 'Section 1' in the city’s southeast corner and we’ll work systematically through each of the city’s 37 sections."
