Royal Oak Introduces Pothole Repair Tracking Map

The Department of Public Service (DPS) has created a map that allows residents to view the progress of the city’s efforts to repair potholes.

“We have two crews dedicated to patching potholes in residential neighborhoods,” said Greg Rassel, DPS director. “We’ve started repairs in 'Section 1' in the city’s southeast corner and we’ll work systematically through each of the city’s 37 sections."

Royal Oak Recognized for Environmental Leadership

Royal Oak was recognized for environmental leadership at the recent Michigan Green Communities conference. As part of the Michigan Green Communities Challenge, participating local governments were awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze or Member seals of achievement reflecting community leadership.

Special Earth Day Event

Beaumont and the ROPD are collaborating on collecting for a special Earth Day Event. Drop off unused or expired medications, mercury thermometers, and sharps on Tuesday, April 22, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. We have to get these darn drugs out of the medicine cabinets and off the streets! Adopt A Park For A Day

The City's Department of Public Service is hosting the 2014 Adopt-A-Park Park Cleanup Weekend on April 26 and 27. The city is looking for volunteers and groups to adopt a park for a day and clean up any debris and leaves they can find. Call the DPS at 248-246-3300 between 7:30am and 4:00pm prior to April 25th to register! There are 50 parks in the City of Royal Oak! We would appreciate any help you can give! 

Electronics and Scrap Metal Drive

The RO Environmental Advisory group is hosting a scrap metal and electronics drive on Saturday, May 3, 2014, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Department of Public Service Yard (1600 N. Campbell). If available, we will have compost, chips and a paper shredder. Nothing is too big or small - bring it all!

Mind Over Matter 5k

Spring Perennial Plant Exchange
