ROAS depends on our dedicated volunteers to further our mission of providing excellent care for the pets who have been entrusted to us and to help prepare them to find their best forever homes.

We welcome reliable volunteers who can help clean and maintain the shelter, walk dogs, understand the importance of positive animal socialization, encourage stewardship and assist with fundraising, work collaboratively and positively with others, give of their time and expertise to benefit our animals, and act as upstanding ambassadors of ROAS.

Interested persons must be at least 18 years of age or accompanied by an approved parent or guardian.

We welcome students and citizens in need of community service hours who understand and promote the positive mission of ROAS.

Completed applications may be turned into ROAS or the Royal Oak Police Department for final approval.

Public hours are Monday-Friday, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Saturday, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.  Volunteers are needed before, during, and after these times as well as on Sundays.  If you have time for us, we have a job for you!
