CAP2109 S Main Street and E Lincoln Avenue Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries, Inc.

S. Main Street - Lincoln to 11 Mile

This week the contractor is planning to mill and pave the base layer of the roadway in the currently closed lanes, on Wed/Thurs this week. If weather delays this work it will be rescheduled for Tuesday following Memorial Day. Most of the sidewalk work is complete with the exception of sidewalks near the new traffic signal installations and at the RR crossing.

FOURTH STREET ROAD CLOSURE: Beginning Monday the 16th, the contractor is closing Fourth Street to east/west traffic, so crews can pour the new intersection. This closure will remain in place for two weeks so the concrete can be installed and then cure to gain full strength. The intersection should be opened up in time for Memorial Day weekend.

E. Lincoln Avenue - Knowles to Campbell
Work on Lincoln Avenue has begun. Crews are currently working on curbing replacement along the south side of the roadway. Knowles, Batavia and Irving are closed at Lincoln for intersection work.

CAP2215 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: Hutch Paving, Inc.

Phase 1

Restoration work continues this week on the streets that have already been paved.

The contractor plans to begin paving Red Run Ct on Monday.

For Kenwood and Dorchester, the contractor plans to pave the top layer of asphalt this week, on Tuesday.

Phase 2
On Vermont, the contractor will be grading the stone road base and plans to pave the first layer of asphalt on Tuesday. The sidewalk ramps at the DeVillen intersection will also be poured this week.

For Delemere, curbing & driveway approach replacements continue this week. Driveways will be poured in halves to maintain access when only one driveway is available.

DELEMERE ROAD CLOSURE AT NAKOTA: Delemere will be closed at Nakota Road to reduce cut-thru traffic and allow for construction operations. The road is open to LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY. Traffic on Nakota Road can still go east/west through the intersection. The Delemere entrance to Normandy Oaks Park is also closed to reduce traffic. Visitors to the park should use the Nakota Road entrance on the north side of the park.

Phase 3
The contractor tentatively plans to start work on some Phase 3 streets after the Memorial Day holiday.

*Amelia and Connecticut will be started once the gas work on the block is complete. Consumers Energy Gas company has notified the city they will be starting end of May/beginning of June for the gas work.

Temporary 'No Parking' signs will be placed where room for construction equipment is needed.
