Royal Oak Police Station Open House
The Royal Oak Police Department is hosting an open house on Friday June 11 from 5-8 PM at the new police station located at 450 E 11 Mile Road.
Attendees will get the opportunity to tour many of the must-see spaces in the state-of-the-art facility and ask questions of the police staff.
The event is free; however, timed-entry passes are required for the station tours. They will be issued at on a first come, first-served basis at the event. Timed-entry passes are not available online.
"We are really excited for people to see behind the scenes how our new facility functions and flows," said Chief Corrigan O’Donohue. “We’ve been conducting all our operations in the new station since February, but due to the pandemic we have not been able to invite the public into many spaces beyond the lobby area."
While waiting tours to begin, there will be many activities in the parking lot directly west of the station, including games, doughnut samples, a fire truck, patrol cars, the Scoopy Doo truck, MoGo bikes, city mascot Romi, music, giveaways and a rock climbing provided by Oakland County Parks & Recreation.
"We are so grateful for our new home and can’t wait for everyone -- especially the residents -- to see it," said O'Donohue.
