CAP2308 Major Road Improvements

Vinsetta Boulevard:

This week the contractor has to finish some concrete curb replacement and patch work before final paving is performed. The contractor is also preparing for lawn restoration to begin as soon as paving is complete.

Normandy Road:

The contractor is continuing work on water main installation this week, between Crooks and Linwood.

Normandy Road will be closed to thru traffic throughout construction. Residents with driveways on Normandy will still be able to enter the construction zone via the side streets to access their property. Businesses should direct their patrons, employees and deliveries to use Coolidge to access Normandy Road to minimize conflicts with construction work.

Lincoln Avenue:

The contractor is paving the first layer of asphalt beginning today. Once complete they will begin work on the median crossing island and adjusting drainage structures for the final roadway height.

CAP2305 Concrete Repair Program

This week the contractor will be removing road pavement sections in the Phase 4 neighborhood and begin saw-cutting in Phase 5 if time allows.

Work in Phases 1-3 is substantially complete.

Work will only be performed on one side of the street at a time, to maintain access for residents throughout construction. Only the worst sections of concrete pavement will be removed and replaced, not the entire roadway. If driveway access will be affected, residents will be notified the day beforehand via doorhanger.

CAP2310 Water Main Improvements

Longfellow

This week the city's contractor is performing the final water main connection. Once complete they will begin road restoration, starting with curb and gutter replacement.

Sixth Steet

The contractor is continuing water main installation on the south side of Sixth Street. This will take approximately two weeks.

CAP2315 Asphalt Resurfacing

The project streets shown in purple on the project map have been divided into three phases as shown below.

Phase 1

On Hawthorn, paving is complete except for between Oakmount and Alexander. The Department of Public Services is televising the storm sewer to verify no repairs are needed before paving.

On Forest, paving is on hold while DPS televises the storm sewer to verify no repairs are needed before paving.

On N. Wilson, The first layer of asphalt has been placed. This week the contractor will be adjusting drainage structures for the final height of the roadway.

Phase 2 & 3 - Underground Work

The city's underground contractor has finished the storm sewer installations. The Department of Public Services will be reviewing water services on Etowah over the next few weeks to see if any need replacement prior to road work starting.

CAP2335 Road Reconstruction

Parkdale (Vermont to N. Wilson)

The contractor will be joint sealing the new roadway this week and begin work on restoration.

Woodsboro

This week the contractor will be pouring the new concrete for driveway approaches.

E. Hudson

The contractor will be pouring the new roadway pavement this week.

Helene

The contractor will be prepping and forming up the roadway this week, in preparation for new concrete.

Houstonia

The contractor is starting work on Houstonia this week, removing the existing roadway pavement.
