2024 Construction Projects Map

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2407 Crooks Road

N. Main Street to 13 Mile Road

This week the new water main section from Vinsetta to Lloyd will undergo testing. The contractor will also begin digging and connecting the individual water services to the new water main sections.

One lane will be open for traffic in each direction throughout construction. Left turns will be prohibited for northbound and southbound traffic throughout the corridor to reduce traffic backups. Access to businesses will be maintained during construction.

CAP2416/2415 Asphalt Resurfacing

This project will resurface several streets in the residential neighborhoods and the downtown.

CAP2416 Downtown Phase 1

Paving is now complete on the project streets downtown. Only some minor restoration and punch list work still needs to occur.

CAP2415 Neighborhoods

Phase 2: Landscape and irrigation restoration will begin.

Phase 3: The contractor will be milling (removing) the existing roadways. Streets will be posted with 'No Parking' signs 24 hours in advance. Paving to follow next week.

Phase 5: Crews will be doing concrete work on the east side of Irving working south to north.

CAP2435 Road Reconstruction

The forecast of inclement weather this week may delay some of the work.

On Albert Avenue, the contractor will be forming and prepping sidewalk and remaining intersection work at Prairie and Garden, with new concrete pouring planned for this week.  

On Parkview, the contractor will continue driveway approach and sidewalk forming prep work, with new concrete pouring planned for this week.

On Samoset, the contractor will be continuing with remaining restoration and grading.

On Vinsetta, the contractor will begin pavement removals late in the week.    

On Nakota, the contractor will continue driveway approach and sidewalk forming prep work, with new concrete pouring planned for this week.

On Massoit, the contractor will continue with remaining removals this week on the west section, and prep and form the Hampton intersection and some sidewalk locations for concrete pouring this week.

 *As part of this project the contractor will also be installing traffic calming chicanes on Marais Avenue between Thistle and Lexington as approved by the city commission.

CAP2405 Concrete Street Repairs

This project will replace some of the worst panels on the project streets shown in light blue on the project map linked above.

For Phase 1 , 2 & 3 streets, the contractor is  pouring the new concrete for second halves.

For Phase 4 streets, the contractor will remove concrete for the first halves of the street. 

First halves / Second halves - The contractor will work on one side of the street at a time to maintain access for residents during construction.

CAP2410 Water Main Improvements

This year the city will be installing new water main on the following streets:

  • Northwood Boulevard from Woodward Avenue to Crooks Road
  • Sycamore Avenue from Northwood Boulevard to Bonnie View Drive

The contractor plans to start mobilizing equipment and traffic control devices to Northwood Blvd.  There will be water main pipe/construction materials delivered this week and the contractor will also begin some concrete removals in advance of beginning pipe installation next week.

CAP2440 Green Infrastructure Improvements

Sheridan Drive - Arden Place - Grandview Road

This project is scheduled to begin June 10th. The contractor may begin mobilizing materials and traffic control devices to the neighborhood in advance, and will begin work with water main installation on Sheridan Drive.

CAP2402 Sidewalk Program

The contractor is working on removals in the Phase 2 area this week, and working on restoration in the Phase 1 area.
