2024 Construction Projects Map

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2407 Crooks Road

This week the contractor will be milling the existing asphalt roadway in preparation for new asphalt.

CAP2416/2415 Asphalt Resurfacing

Additional work has been added to the project. The contractor will be resurfacing Sherman Drive between S Lafayette Ave and S Washington Ave, and also Sixth Street between Altadena Ave and Alexander Ave. 

On Sherman Drive,   the contractor is starting on concrete work first, replacing curbing and sidewalk ramps as needed this week. They will also be adjusting drainage structures for the new roadway.

Work on Sherman Drive is expected to take 2-3 weeks and will be completed prior to the Arts, Beats and Eats Festival. Sherman Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic during construction. Sidewalks and businesses will remain open throughout the project.

On Sixth Street, the contractor will be adjusting drainage structures for the new roadway.

The contractor tentatively plans to mill and pave Sherman and Sixth the week of August 12th, weather permitting.

CAP2435 Road Reconstruction

On Massoit, the contractor is finishing the final concrete work near Hampton, and will be lawn restoration later in the week.

On Vinsetta, no work is planned for this week.

On Marais, the city was required to pause construction due to the election, as the senior center is a polling location. Work will resume after August 7, 2024.

Beginning on August 7th, the northbound lane pavement removals and storm sewer work will resume.

On Glenwood, the contractor is pouring new concrete for the driveway approaches and sidewalk ramps this week.

On Hillside, the contractor is pouring the new concrete road pavement this week. 

 *As part of this project the contractor will also be installing traffic calming chicanes on Marais Avenue between Thistle and Lexington as approved by the city commission.

CAP2410 Water Main Improvements

On Northwood, pavement removals will start from Clawson to Maplewood.

On Sycamore, the contractor will be working on transferring individual water services to the new water main.

If residents will be affected by a water shut off, they will be notified beforehand via doorhanger with the date, start time and duration of the shut off.

CAP2440 Green Infrastructure Improvements

Sheridan Drive - Arden Place - Grandview Road

The contractor will begin concrete removals this week.
