New Location - Inside west wall in the middle

COMPOST DROP-OFF LOCATION CHANGE & NEW SELF-SERVE STATION

Due to colder temperatures, we are moving the Royal Oak Sustainability booth inside. Our new location through December is in the middle of the row along the west wall. We are close to Dobre Pierogi and The Flower Project. We will be there through December, promoting composting, selling bags, and answering your questions. WE ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP.

For your convenience, we will have a self-service station outside on the WEST PORCH, where our booth is usually located. This is a trial only on Saturdays (for now), and as long as contamination does not become an issue, it will be a convenient option for those who like to drive up. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU RECORD YOUR DROP-OFF by marking a tally on the paper located on the table.

No Mow May Yard Signs
pumpkins go in yard waste

Did you know you can put your pumpkins in your yard waste collection? Pumpkins are considered raw fruits and vegetables, and SOCRRA can take them. Please dispose of them curbside via your yard waste, not at the Farmers Market. We will take your pumpkins if you do not have curbside yard waste collection.

Fryer Oil Recycling

FRYER OIL RECYCLING - Saturday, Nov 30th from 7 am-1 pm

With Thanksgiving comes an influx of cooking and fryer oil. To prevent these items from going into the landfill or down the drain, Royal Oak Sustainability will offer a one-day Fryer Oil Drop-off on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Royal Oak Sustainability will have a special oil dumpster on site to recycle cooking oils. We can accept all types of "plant-based" oils, including vegetable, corn, peanut, olive, etc. Items like bacon fat, grease, and fried food remnants can go into the composting bins but not the oil dumpster. Cooking oils need to be in liquid form and filtered to remove contaminants.
