City Commission Meets Monday

Please note, meeting agendas are often revised at the last minute, so please recheck the agenda prior to the meeting for any changes.

Compost

Compost Returns

SOCRRA has partnered with Spurt Industries to provide the highest-quality compost—and even more ways to get it.

🌱Compost is now available at Royal Oak's compost site, on the east side of Coolidge north of 13 Mile Rd. in the vacant lot just north of the batting cages. It's free for residents; stop by and help yourself!

🌱Visit SOCRRA's compost site in Rochester Hills for free self-serve compost (bring shovel, container, and proof of residency), or purchase larger loads of compost or Spurt Dirt and they'll load it for you.

🌱Now available: order and purchase compost or Spurt Dirt for home delivery!

Climate March
Food Scraps Only

Bring your compost to the WEST porch of the farmers market between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Look for the bright green bins!

WHAT CAN GO IN THE BIN:

Acceptable materials include food scraps, BPI* certified materials, coffee and tea. (Download the Royal Oak Recycling Guide (PDF).)

KEEP THESE OUT!

🚫 Plastic & metal

🚫 Non-BPI certified food containers

🚫 Plastic bags are our biggest problem—please bring your compost in a compostable bag or a reusable bucket.

*The Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) checks if a material can break down safely in compost. If something is BPI-certified, it means it has been tested to make sure it composts properly.
