2025 Construction Projects

The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

CAP2507 N. Main Street and Coolidge Highway Resurfacing

N. Main Street from 13 Mile Road to north city limits

The contractor plans to mill the existing roadway on the east side mid-week, then install the first layer of new asphalt pavement beginning on Friday.

Coolidge Highway from 14 Mile Road to north city limits

Work is starting earlier than anticipated to expedite the project.

This week the contractor will be setting up traffic control devices to switch traffic to the inside lanes. Then the contractor will begin work on the outside lanes, performing any concrete curbing or driveway approach replacement as needed for the project.

Businesses with one driveway will have their driveway approaches replaced in halves to maintain access, businesses with multiple driveways will be replaced one at a time to maintain access.

CAP2509 13 Mile Road Resurfacing

13 Mile Road from Woodward Avenue to Crooks Road

Final concrete work is curing this week, then the contractor will begin paving the final layer of asphalt for the roadway, then install the paint markings and signage. This project should be complete by the 4th of July holiday.

Benjamin Traffic Circles

The city's contractor will be working on landscape restoration this week for all three streets and installing the signage on the new Benjamin traffic circles.

2025 Sidewalk Program

The contractor is finishing work in the Phase 1 section on the west side of Woodward. Then they will be moving to the Phase 2 section, working west to east between Normandy and 14 Mile Road. Crews will be saw-cutting and removing sidewalk squares, and pouring new cement. Landscape crews will follow afterwards to backfill any holes, clean up any materials or debris, and restore lawn damage with topsoil and seed.

If driveway access will be affected, residents will receive a door hanger notice the day beforehand.

Work along major roads and half-mile roads will be done at the end of the project.

Schedule:

  • Phase 1: Working east to west between 13 Mile Road and Normandy Road
  • Phase 2: Working west to east between Normandy Road and 14 Mile Road
  • Phase 3: Working west to east between 14 Mile and north city limits.

Greenfield Road Resurfacing

The Road Commission for Oakland County is resurfacing Greenfield Road between 12 Mile Road and 13 Mile Road.
