Royal Oak Police Department Launches Hope Not Handcuffs

In partnership with Families Against Narcotics (FAN) the Royal Oak Police Department becomes part of the growing Hope Not Handcuffs network that brings law enforcement and community organizations together to find treatment options for individuals battling addiction.  Instead of arrest, any individual seeking help to reduce their dependency on drugs or alcohol, can come to the police department and be greeted with compassion and respect.  Police personnel along with volunteer Angels will guide the individual through the process to get them in a treatment program.  Want to become an Angel?  Royal Oak Police will host an Angel Training on Tuesday, June 19 from 6:30 to 8:30pm.  To register please to to:  www.familiesagainstnarcotics.org/hopenothandcuffs-angel

Public Library Summer Schedule 

Summer is a busy time for family vacations and outdoor activities and Sundays at the public library will also be taking a summer break.   Sunday hours have ended but not to fear we are still here Monday through Saturday to get those much needed "beach" books for your summer reading!  And when autumn returns, Sunday hours at the public library will also return!

Election Workers Needed

The city clerk’s office is looking to hire additional election workers, 18 years and older, for the upcoming August 7, 2018 Primary Election.  Laptops are used in every precinct, so computer experience is necessary.  Pay is $150 for the day and a training class is held prior to the election.  Our Election Inspector applications are available on our website at https://www.romi.gov/172/Election-Inspectors or feel free to contact us at 248-246-3050 for more information.

New Parking Lot Picture

Don't Forget New Metered Parking Lot Available

Between the public library and the police department, a new metered lot is available to the public.  The lot  entrance is on Troy Street, just south of 11 Mile Road.  The lot allows convenient access to city hall, library, police department and the farmers market.
