Downtown Stakeholder's Meeting

Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM at the Royal Oak Public Library

This month, we will be visited by Julie Law of 360 Event Productions who is managing the Spooktacular and Holiday Glow events. Come learn about the exciting things we have planned for Downtown Royal Oak during the 2018 holiday season!

Join us the morning of Thursday, August 9th for our monthly downtown stakeholders' meeting. Are you a property owner, business owner, employee, or resident of downtown? If yes to any of those, we consider you a stakeholder and invite you to participate in building a strong Downtown Royal Oak community!

Lyft Code promo

Get $5 for your Ride

The Royal Oak DDA is continuing the $5 Lyft promotion!

Lyft riders will receive a $5 credit to their rides to and from Downtown Royal Oak by using the code ROSUMMER18. The promotion applies to any ride going to and from Downtown Royal Oak between 5:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. midnight on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for a six-week period, ending September 1.

Drop-off points may be anywhere within 0.2 miles of the intersection of Third and Main Streets. This is the heart of Downtown Royal Oak, surrounded by many popular weekend destinations. Whether you are going to dinner, seeing a concert, or visiting your favorite shop, this service will help you get there.

This promotion is being funded by the Downtown Development Authority who is implementing several measures to make travelling to downtown easy, safe, and fast. Ride sharing is a great way to reduce congestion and improve the experience of coming into Downtown Royal Oak.

The code can be used up to a maximum of six times over the next six weeks, ending Saturday, September 1. The maximum number of applications is limited to the first one-thousand people who apply the code to their Lyft accounts.

The code can be applied by visiting https://www.lyft.com/invite/rosummer18

Announcement: Please Don't Park in the Alleys

In this very busy time in Downtown Royal Oak, please be sure that vehicles are not parked for long periods of time in the alleys. Many businesses rely on the alleys for trash pick-up and deliveries. Recently, some dumpsters were not emptied due to parked vehicles obstructing access for garbage trucks.
