Construction Project Updates

Residents on affected streets were mailed construction notices in the Spring with detailed information on the project.

The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. If you have questions you can contact the Engineering Division at 248.246.3260.

CAP1908/09 14 Mile Road Resurfacing Improvements

Greenfield Road to Crooks Road

SOCWA Contractor: Verdeterre Contracting, Inc.

City Contractor: Pamar Enterprises, Inc

This project includes work in conjunction with the South Oakland County Water Authority, Michigan Department of Transportation and the Road Commission for Oakland County.

14 Mile Road will be under construction for most of the 2019 construction season, with traffic often limited to one lane in each direction. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes during construction, especially during rush hour. For more information regarding the complete scope of the project, visit: www.romi.gov/14Mile

SOCWA's contractor has finished working on their portion of the water main project.

The city's contractor has completed the water main installation and connections and will continue working on pavement restoration the week of June 17th.

CAP1935 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.

The week of June 17th, the city's contractor will pour the last section on the north side of Nakota Road and begin preparing the south side for new pavement.

On Fernlee Avenue the contractor plans to complete sidewalk restoration.

The contractor plans to continue transferring water services to the new water main on W. Houstonia Ave the week of June 17th. They also intend to begin sidewalk restoration on the north side of the street.

No work is scheduled for the other project streets the week of June 17th.

CAP1905 Concrete Pavement Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Inc.

The contractor plans to continue pavement work on the project streets east of Crooks the week of June 17th. If driveway access will be affected, residents will receive a notice via door hanger the day beforehand. The contractor will only work on one side of the street at a time, to maintain access for residents.

CAP1915 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries Inc

The week of June 17th, the contractor plans to adjust drainage structures on the Phase 1 streets of Hendrie and Oak, likely later in the week.

On Phase 2 streets, the contractor will continue with concrete work on Woodcrest, and begin work on Mayfield and the south side of Lawndale. Concrete work on Fernwood and Lockwood is mostly complete.

On Phase 3 streets, concrete work is complete on Maxwell and the contractor plans to begin curb and driveway apron removals on Farnum, West and Park.

On Park Avenue, Consumers Energy will be replacing the gas main and services the week of June 17th.

CAP1910 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.

The week of June 17th, the contractor plans to continue water main installation on Normandy Road east of Mankato working towards Crooks.

On Judson Ave, the contractor plans to pour sections of the north half of the roadway. Prairie will be closed at Judson for one week while new pavement is placed in the north half of the intersection.

On Albert Ave, the contractor plans to begin transferring water services to the new main.

No work is scheduled for the other project streets the week of June 17th.
