Construction Project Updates


Residents on affected streets were mailed construction notices in the Spring with detailed information on the project.

The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project. If you have questions you can contact the Engineering Division at 248.246.3260.

CAP1908/09 14 Mile Road Resurfacing Improvements

Greenfield Road to Crooks Road

The city's contractor will continue restoration and punch list items.

CAP1935 Road Reconstruction Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.


The week of September 9th, the contractor will open the east side of Benjamin where new pavement was just finished, and begin removals on the west side of the roadway.

On W Houstonia Ave, the contractor will continue with curbing, approaches and sidewalk on the south side of the roadway. Restoration work will continue as well.

Restoration work will continue on Fernlee Ave, Nakota Road, and Massoit Road.

Any property owners' driveway access that will be affected will receive a door hanger notice at least 24 hours in advance.

CAP1905 Concrete Pavement Repairs

Contractor: Galui Construction Inc.


The week of September 9th, the contractor plans to continue working on the project streets south of 14 Mile Road and along Parmenter Blvd.

Any property owners' driveway access that will be affected will receive a door hanger notice at least 24 hours in advance.

CAP1915 Asphalt Resurfacing

Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries Inc


The contractor will continue working on restoration and punch list items the week of September 9th. Replacement trees are scheduled to be planted the week of September 16th.

CAP1910 Water Main Improvements

Contractor: FDM Contracting Inc.


The week of September 9th, the contractor will continue water main installation on S. Blair Avenue.

Property owners will be notified via door hanger the day beforehand if they will be affected by any water shut-offs.

The contractor plans to begin water main work on E. Harrison Ave towards the end of the week.

The contractor also plans to begin grading and preparing the south side of Normandy Road for new sidewalks and driveway approaches, as well as pouring the road pavement where excavations were made at the various side streets.

The contractor will be doing landscape restoration work on Albert, Judson and Rockingham.

CAP1907 Normandy Road Improvements

Greenfield Road to Woodward Avenue
Contractor: AJAX Paving Industries


Construction operations will close Normandy Road to thru traffic. Residents with driveways on Normandy Road will be allowed access from their nearest side street, all other traffic will be prohibited.

The week of September 9th, the contractor will continue working on the north side of the roadway, preparing the road base for new pavement. New curb & gutter and edge drains will be installed along the entire length of the road.

Any property owners' driveway access that will be affected will receive a door hanger notice at least 24 hours in advance.
