How to Register

Register for Programs Online
Visit the Royal Oak Parks & Recreation Registration Website to register online.


Mail-In Registration
You may send a completed registration form (or reasonable facsimile) with payment to:

Do not send cash. Make checks payable to Royal Oak Parks & Recreation. Use separate checks for different classes in case one of your desired classes is filled. Returned check fee is $35. To receive a receipt, please include your e-mail address. Registration must be processed through the Parks & Recreation Office and cannot be received at the class.

In Person Registration

  • Location: 203 S Troy St. Royal Oak, MI 48067 
  • Hours: Monday – Thursday 8am – 4:30pm, Friday 8am – 12pm

We accept payment in person by exact cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover.


Refunds

  1. All refunds will be assessed a $10 processing fee.
  2. Refunds will only be granted if requested at least five business days prior to the start of activity.
  3. Refunds will be returned in the form of the original payment. Credit card refunds are processed in 3–5 business days. Cash or check refunds take three to four weeks.
  4. No refunds on one-day or drop-in classes.

    Note:  Children should not accompany their parents to classes designated for adult participants only.

Guidelines

General Guidelines

If you have never registered for class with the Royal Oak Parks & Recreation, you will need to “create a new account” through the website. You cannot register for classes as a “guest”.

You can only register your own family. For any transfers, corrections or questions please contact the Parks & Recreation Department.

Low Enrollment

Activities may be cancelled due to low enrollment. Full refunds will be issued if activity is cancelled due to low enrollment. Please register early so we don’t cancel your class!

Insufficient Funds

There will be a $35 Returned Check Charge to all accounts for checks that are returned by the bank.

Weather Cancellations

Please see the Announcements tab of the Parks & Recreation website for all program updates.

When Royal Oak Schools are closed due to inclement weather:

  1. Four Seasons Preschool is closed for the entire day.
  2. All programs held at school facilities are cancelled.
  3. Programs held at the Salter Center starting before 12:00 pm are cancelled. Determination on programs held at the Salter Center after 12:00 pm will be updated on the website after 10:30 am.
  4. For programs held at other Parks and Recreation facilities: Contact the facility directly.
  5. For outdoor programs, we will make decisions on the status of games/programs up to 4:00 pm. After 4:00 pm, report to the site and a decision will be made by officials/program leaders. If the Oakland County tornado siren sounds signifying a tornado warning, all games/programs will automatically cease.

  • Registration must be completed prior to the start of class; instructors cannot process registration on site.
  • All programs are subject to a minimum enrollment of 8 participants, and will be cancelled if not met. Full refunds will be given if a class/camp is cancelled by Royal Oak Parks & Recreation.
  • Insurance: The City of Royal Oak does not provide accident or hospital insurance for people participating in activities.
  • Please indicate if you have any condition of impairment, which requires accommodation for your enjoyment of the program.
